Privacy policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
iptvolt is a media player for iPhone, iPad and Android. It plays playlists and IPTV sources that you add yourself. iptvolt has no user accounts, shows no ads and does not track you across apps. It collects anonymous usage statistics that you can switch off at any time. This Privacy Policy explains which data the app processes and why. It is published on iptvolt.com.
01Who We Are
iptvolt is developed and operated by the controller:
schantastic e.U.
Julian Schanta
Mattersburger Straße 26, 7000 Eisenstadt, Austria
Email: contact@schantastic.com
As a company based in Austria, we process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).
02Data Stored Only on Your Device
Most of what you do in iptvolt never leaves your device. The following is stored locally and is not transmitted to us:
- Your sources: playlist URLs, Xtream server addresses and usernames.
- Passwords and the parental-control PIN: kept in the secure system keychain (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
- Favourites, folders, watch progress, recently watched channels, search history and settings.
- Channel lists and TV guide data downloaded from your own sources, cached for faster loading.
- Reminders for events, delivered as local notifications on your device (no push server is involved).
Deleting the app removes this data. You can also remove individual sources, favourites and settings in the app at any time.
03Your IPTV Sources and Streams
iptvolt provides no channels, playlists or content. When you add a source, the app connects directly from your device to the server you entered in order to load channel lists, the TV guide and video streams. That server is operated by a third party of your choice, not by us; it receives your IP address and the login data you configured, under its own privacy terms. We never see this traffic.
When you use AirPlay or Chromecast, iptvolt looks for TVs and speakers on your local network (on iOS only after you tap the Cast button, which asks for local-network access); this discovery stays on your network, the TV then loads the stream directly from your source, and nothing about it is sent to us.
04Sync Between Devices (optional, iptvolt Pro)
If you turn on sync, iptvolt keeps the following identical on all devices that use the same sync code: your sources (including their passwords), favourites, folders and hidden channels; your settings (display, language, playback, and which categories are locked by parental control, not the PIN); your sport preferences (followed sports, competitions, teams, country and notification options); your watch history (continue watching, recently watched and resume positions); and the reminders you set yourself. Each device delivers reminders as its own local notifications, and only if you allowed notifications on it.
- End-to-end encrypted: the data is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your sync code. The code itself is never sent to our servers. We, and our hosting provider, cannot read your synced data.
- Storage: the encrypted data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), under an identifier derived from your sync code.
- Your devices:to apply the limit of 5 devices per sync code, the synced data also lists the devices that use it: device model (for example "iPhone 16"), platform, the day it joined and the last day it synced. Never the name you gave the device. This list is end-to-end encrypted like everything else above.
- Shared iptvolt Pro: all devices that use a sync code share one subscription. For this, each of them signs in to RevenueCat (see section 05) with the same app user ID, which is derived from your sync code. This ID contains no name or email, but it lets RevenueCat see which devices and purchases belong to the same sync code.
- Anonymous sign-in: to protect the database, the app signs in anonymously with Firebase Authentication, which creates a random identifier. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number.
- Not synced: the parental-control PIN, your analytics choice, your search history, automatic team reminders, the player engine chosen per channel and other device-specific settings. They stay on each device.
- Clearing your watch history: Settings → Clear watch history. While sync is on, this clears the history on every device that uses your sync code; with sync off, it clears it on this device only. Turning a reminder off removes it from all synced devices.
Sync is off by default. You can disconnect a device at any time in Settings → Sync. To have the synced data deleted from our servers, email us your sync code at contact@schantastic.com.
05Purchases (iptvolt Pro)
iptvolt Pro is sold as an in-app purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never receive your payment details.
To verify purchases and unlock Pro across your devices, we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA). RevenueCat processes a pseudonymous app user ID (with sync, the one shared by your devices, see section 04), the purchased product, purchase and expiry dates, the store transaction identifiers and basic device information (such as platform and app version). It does not receive your name or email.
If you redeem a promo code, the app checks the code against our database (Google Firebase). The code is not linked to your identity.
06Artwork, Metadata and Sports Fixtures
To show posters, cast, ratings and today's sports fixtures, the app sends search requests (for example a film or series title, or a date) directly from your device to these public databases:
- The Movie Database (TMDB): film and series details and images.
- TVmaze: series and episode information.
- Public sports data services (ESPN, FIS, IBU, MotoGP and Jolpica): fixtures, results and team badges.
These requests contain no account or personal data, but the services necessarily receive your IP address, as with any internet request.
07Anonymous Usage Statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To understand which features are used and where the app needs to improve, iptvolt uses Google Analytics for Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC). It collects anonymous usage statistics:
- Screens opened and features used (for example: a source type added, a favourite added, a search performed, without the search text).
- Playback start and error categories, the kind of content (live, film, episode) and a rough session length.
- Purchase outcome for iptvolt Pro (plan type only).
- App version, device model, operating system version, language, approximate location (country/region, derived by Google from the IP address, which Google does not store) and a random app-instance identifier.
We never collect channel or stream URLs, server addresses, usernames, passwords, playlist names, sync codes, what you watch, or advertising identifiers (IDFA / Android Advertising ID). The data is not used for advertising, profiling or cross-app tracking and is not sold.
You can switch this off at any time in Settings → Privacy & data → Share anonymous usage data. Google's privacy information: policies.google.com/privacy and firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
08Legal Bases
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): Providing the app, sync and iptvolt Pro you chose to use.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): Protecting the sync database against abuse via anonymous sign-in, loading artwork and metadata you see in the app, and anonymous usage statistics to improve the app (you can object at any time with the in-app switch). The same basis applies to the server logs of this website (see section 10).
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): Google Analytics on this website, only after you accept it in the cookie banner (see section 10).
- Legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): Retaining purchase records where tax law requires it.
09Service Providers and International Transfers
We do not sell or rent personal data. We use these processors:
- Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC): anonymous sign-in, storage of encrypted sync data and promo codes, and anonymous usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase).
- RevenueCat, Inc. (USA): purchase verification.
- Apple / Google: app distribution and payment processing as independent controllers.
- Vercel Inc. (USA): hosting of this website (see section 10).
- Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC: Google Analytics 4 on this website, only with your consent (see section 10).
Where data is processed outside the EU/EEA, transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10This Website (iptvolt.com)
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., USA. When you visit it, the hosting servers automatically record server logs: your IP address, browser and device information, the requested page and the time of the request. We process this to deliver the site, keep it secure and find errors (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Transfers to the USA rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Google Analytics 4
The website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. GA4 is only activated after you give your explicit consent in the cookie banner shown on your first visit. It then collects pages visited, referral source, approximate location (country/region), device type, browser and operating system, and sets cookies (
_ga,_ga_*) to distinguish visitors. IP addresses are not stored. We use GA4 data only to understand how the website is used, not for advertising; advertising signals are switched off. Data is kept for 14 months. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via Cookie settings in the website footer; withdrawal stops all future tracking and does not affect processing before it. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Transfers to the USA rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
Cookies and local storage
Apart from the GA4 cookies described above, which are only set with your consent, this website sets no cookies. Your choice in the cookie banner is saved in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again. Fonts are hosted on the site itself, so your browser makes no requests to Google Fonts or other font services.
11Data Retention
- On-device data: until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
- Encrypted sync data: as long as the sync space is in use, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Usage statistics: kept by Google Analytics for 14 months, then deleted automatically.
- Purchase records: as long as required to provide iptvolt Pro and to meet statutory retention periods.
12Security
Connections to our providers use TLS. Passwords and your PIN are kept in the system keychain, and synced data is end-to-end encrypted. Our database rules only allow access to a single encrypted record by its identifier and block listing or reading other users' data. Please note that connections to your own IPTV sources use whatever security those servers offer (some only support unencrypted HTTP).
13Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access: request information about data we process about you.
- Rectification: have inaccurate data corrected.
- Erasure: have your data deleted.
- Restriction: limit how your data is processed.
- Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Because iptvolt has no accounts, we can usually only identify data you point us to (for example by sending your sync code). Contact us at contact@schantastic.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at).
14Children
iptvolt is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children. A parental-control PIN lets you lock categories on a device.
15Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. The current version is always available on iptvolt.com, with the date of the last update at the top. See also our Terms of Use and Imprint.
